01Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and OpenManga (“OpenManga”, “we”, “us”). By using our app or website, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use OpenManga.

You need to be at least 13 years old, or older if that’s the minimum age in your country. If you’re under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to read these Terms with you.

02What OpenManga does

OpenManga lets you add manga pages and get back versions with the text translated by AI. You can also listen to lines read out loud and keep a history of your translations. We may add, change or remove features, AIs, languages and prices over time.

03Your account

You can sign in with Apple, Google or email, or continue as a guest. Guests can turn their account into a full one later and keep their credits.

Keep your sign-in details safe. You’re responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else is using it. We may limit or suspend accounts that break these Terms.

04Your pages and your responsibility

• You keep your rights. OpenManga doesn’t own the pages you add, and we claim no rights to the manga itself.
• Only add pages you’re allowed to use. That means pages you own, bought, or have permission to use, in a way that doesn’t break the law or anyone’s rights.
• Our permission to work with them. You let us store, process and show your pages and their translations, including through the providers that help us translate them, but only to run OpenManga for you.
• For your own reading. Translations are for your personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t publish, sell or share translated pages in ways that harm the people who made the manga.

Don’t add anything illegal, anything that sexualizes children, anything that exploits or threatens other people, or anything that contains malware.

05Using OpenManga fairly

Please don’t:

• break the law or other people’s rights while using OpenManga;
• copy, scrape or automate the service, or try to take apart the app;
• get around credits, limits or security measures;
• sell access to your account or share it with others;
• overload or disrupt the service; or
• use OpenManga to build a competing product.

If you do, we may remove content, limit your access or close your account.

06Copyright complaints

We respect the people who create manga. If you believe a page stored in OpenManga infringes your copyright, email [email protected] and include:

• your name and contact details;
• the work you say has been copied, and where we can find the page;
• a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn’t allowed;
• a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that your information is accurate and that you are the owner or are allowed to act for the owner; and
• your signature, which can be typed.

We’ll look into it, may remove the content, and may close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.

07About the AI translations

Translations are written by AI, so they can contain mistakes or miss jokes, tone and cultural details. Different AIs give different results. Please don’t rely on them for anything important, and we can’t promise that any translation is accurate.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok and Kimi are trademarks of their owners. OpenManga isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by them.

08Credits, subscriptions and payments

Credits

Translating a page uses credits. The cost depends on the AI you choose, and we show you the total before you start. If a page fails, we automatically return its credits. Credits have no cash value, can’t be transferred or exchanged for money, and are removed if you delete your account. Fair-use limits, such as a daily limit on new lines read aloud, may apply.

Subscriptions

• Subscriptions give you credits each period, plus any extras shown in the app.
• They renew automatically at the same length and price until you cancel. You’re charged through your Apple or Google account.
• The price and length are shown before you buy. If we offer a free trial or an introductory price, its details are shown too.
• To cancel, open your subscription settings: on iPhone, Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions; on Android, the Google Play Store app, then Payments & subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge. You keep access until the period ends.

Credit packs

Credit packs are one-time purchases of extra credits.

Refunds and prices

Apple and Google handle refunds for purchases made through their stores, under their own policies, so please ask them. This doesn’t limit any rights you have under the law. We may change prices for future purchases.

09Changes to the service

We’re always improving OpenManga, so things will change. We may pause the service for maintenance, or stop offering a feature. We’ll try to give notice of big changes.

10Ending things

You can stop using OpenManga at any time, and delete your account in Settings under “Delete account”. That removes your pages and any credits you have left.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use could harm others or the service. When an account closes, your right to use the app ends. Parts of these Terms that are meant to last, such as our rights and limits on liability, will keep applying.

11Our rights

The app, the website, and everything in them (the software, design, name and logo) belong to OpenManga or the companies that license them to us. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use the app as these Terms allow. Please don’t copy or change it.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them without owing you anything.

12App Store and Google Play

If you got OpenManga from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and OpenManga only, not Apple. Apple has no duty to provide support or maintenance for the app. If the app doesn’t meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple and it will refund the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty duty. Apple isn’t responsible for claims about the app, such as product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you’re not in a country under a US embargo and not on a US list of prohibited parties.

If you got OpenManga from Google Play, Google’s terms for Google Play also apply to your download and purchases.

13No guarantees

OpenManga is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t make promises that it will always work, be free of errors, or give results that are accurate or fit for a particular purpose.

14Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data. Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if you haven’t paid us anything.

Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits anything that can’t be limited by law, such as responsibility for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

15Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top, and if the change is important we’ll tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using OpenManga after that, you accept the new Terms. If you don’t agree, please stop using it and delete your account.

16If something goes wrong

Please email [email protected] first. Most problems can be sorted out quickly. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.
